Ingredients:

2 eggs (separated)
2/3 cup shortening
1-1/2 cups sugar
1 cup mashed ripe bananas
1-1/2 cups all-puropse flour
1 tsp. baking soda
1/4 cup sour milk
1/2 tsp. vanilla extract
1/2 cup chopped walnuts,optional
Whipped cream (optional)

Directions:

Beat egg whites till soft peaks from; set aside. Cream shortening and sugar. Beat in egg yokes, mix well. Add bananas. Combine flour, baking soda; add to creamed mixture alternately with milk, beating well after each addition. Add vanilla. Fold in egg whites. Fold in nuts if desired. Pour into 13x9" greased pan. Bake at 350°F for 45-50 minutess. Cool on wire rack. Garnish with whipped cream.

** To sour milk: place 1 tsp. white vingar in a measuring cup. Add enough milk to equal 1/4 cup.**
