Ingredients:

1/2 lb. peaches, halved and pits removed
1/2 lb. plums, halved and pits removed
2 tbsp. raisins
1 qt. water
1 cup red wine
1/2 cup sugar
1 to 2 cinnamon sticks
1 tsp. cornstarch
2 tsp. water

Directions:

Put fruit in saucepan with water, wine, sugar and cinnamon. Cover; simmer 1 hour, until fruit is very tender. Force fruit through a sieve and return to liquid. Make a paste with cornstarch and 2 tsp. of water. Stir into soup and bring to a boil. Reduce heat; cook 3 to 5 minutes. Remove cinnamon stick(s). Let cool, then chill.
