Servings:

2-3/4 cups

Prep. Time:

:10

Total Time:

Ingredients:

2 cups cheddar cheese, shredded
2 cups Swiss cheese, shredded
1/4 cup all-purpose flour
1-1/4 cups dry white wine or beer
3/4 tsp. salt
1 pinch garlic powder
Crusty French bread cubes

Directions:

Combine cheddar and Swiss cheeses in a bowl. Sprinkle with flour; toss lightly to coat. Heat wine or beer in a medium saucepan until simmering but not boiling; reduce heat to maintain temperature. Gradually add the cheese mixture by small handfuls, stirring constantly after each addition until cheese melts. The mixture will appear curdled at first but smooths out as more of the cheese mixture is added. Stir in salt and garlic powder. Transfer to a fondue pot and keep warm. Serve with bread cubes for dipping.

User Reviews:

Yummy! I made this for a wine tasting party, using veggies and Onion-Dill Bread crumbs for dipping. Everyone loved it.
