1 cup regular rice, uncooked
2 tbsp. butter or margarine
1 tbsp. onion, grated
1 cup milk
1/2 tsp. salt
1/8 tsp. pepper
1 dash Worcestershire sauce
1-1/2 cups grated cheddar cheese
1-1/2 cups left-over cooked chicken or meat of choice, diced
1 cup cooked peas, green beans, or mixed vegetables, drained
1 can (4 oz.) sliced mushrooms and liquid
1 cup potato chips, crushed

Directions:

Cook rice as directed on package. Or use cooked leftover rice. Place butter, onion, milk, salt, pepper, Worcestershire sauce, 1 cup of the cheese, and liquid from mushrooms into saucepan. Cook over low heat, stirring until cheese is melted.
Put a layer of rice in buttered frypan. Cover with a layer of chicken or meat, then vegetables and mushrooms. Repeat, ending with rice. Pour cheese mixture over all. Top with chips and remaining cheese; sprinkle with paprika. Cover frypan; open vent. Bake at simmering point until hot and bubbly.
