Ingredients:

1 cup butter or margarine, softened
2 cups sugar
3 eggs
4 cups flour
1 tsp. baking soda
1 tsp. salt
1-1/3 cups buttermilk
1 cup chopped dates
1 cup chopped pecans or walnuts
1 tbsp. grated orange rind

Glaze:
1/4 cup orange juice
1/2 cup sugar
2 tbsp. grated orange rind

Directions:

Cream butter and sugar. Add eggs, beat well. Combine dry ingredients and add alternately with the buttermilk. Fold in walnuts, dates and orange rind. Pour into two 8-1/2-inch greased and floured pans and bake at 350°F for about 1 hour.

recipe does not indicate when to glaze the bread or what kind of sugar to use granulated or powdered .... should the glaze be pu on when the bread is right out of the oven or when it has cooled ....I do like the texture of the bread but I am still looking for a recipe that the bread is darker and more moist....
