Ingredients:

1 cup peanuts, whole or chopped
1 cup white sugar
3/4 tsp. baking soda
Soft butter

Directions:

Melt the sugar slowly in a hot heavy skillet. Turn off the burner. Add the nuts mixed with the soda to the melted sugar. Stir quickly. Pour out on well buttered cutting board, roll out with well buttered rolling pin. (Be very careful not to touch the mixture with your bare hands as it is extremely hot.) Let it cool. Break into pieces.
