Ingredients:

1 cup butter, softened
1 cup sugar
1 cup molasses
1 egg
1 cup sour milk*
6 cups all-purpose flour
1 tbsp. baking powder
1 tsp. baking soda
1 tsp. ground cinnamon
1 tsp. ground ginger
1/2 tsp. salt
1 cup chopped walnuts
1 cup golden raisins
1 cup chopped dates

Frosting:
3-3/4 cups powdered sugar
1/3 cup orange juice
2 tbsp. butter, melted

Directions:

In a large mixing bowl, cream butter and sugar. Add molasses, egg andmilk; mix well. Combine the flour, baking powder, baking soda, cinnamon, ginger and salt; gradually add to creamed mixture. Stir in walnuts, raisins and dates. Chill for 30 minutes. Roll dough out on a lightly floured surface to 1/4 inch thickness. Cut with a 2-1/2-inch cookie cutter. Place on greased baking sheets. Bake at 350°F for 12-15 minutes. Cool completely.

Frosting:
Beat all ingredients in a small bowl until smooth. Frost cookies.
