Ingredients:

1 cup brown sugar
1 cup shortening
2 beaten eggs
1-1/2 cups honey
1 tsp. salt
1 tsp. baking powder
1 tbsp. ground ginger
2 cups whole wheat flour
4 cups all purpose flour
1 cup buttermilk
2 tsp. baking soda

Directions:

Cream together the brown sugar and shortening. Add the beaten eggs. Mix in the honey. Sift together: salt, baking powder, ginger, and both kinds of flour. Set flour mixture aside. Mix together the buttermilk and soda. Alternately add the buttermilk and the flour mixtures to the creamed mixture. Roll out the cookies on a floured cutting board and cut with your favorite cookie cutters or the top of a drinking glass dipped in flour. Bake at 350°F until done (10-15 minutes).
