Ingredients:

1/2 cup rolled oats
2/3 cup water
1 egg
1 cup buttermilk
1/4 cup butter, melted
1/2 cup whole wheat flour
1/2 cup white flour
1 tsp. sugar
1 tsp. soda
1 tsp. cinnamon
1 pear, finely chopped

Directions:

Combine oats and water; let stand for 10 minutes. Combine dry ingredients. Combine milk, butter, and egg. Combine all ingredients together, mixing just until moistened. Fold in pears. Fry, serve, and enjoy.

I love these with a crisp pear like bosc or an Asian/apple pear. It's also very tasty with apple instead.

These were ok... I think they have potential, but need more pear (maybe 3 instead of just 1), and should be topped with a pear or other type of fruit syrup, or maybe a pear glaze or pear butter... like I said, it has potential, but needs a little work!
