Prep. Time:

Total Time:

Ingredients:

8 oz. unsalted butter
4 oz. sugar
1 lb. flour
1/2 tsp. baking soda
4 oz. ground almonds
1 pinch salt
1 egg yolk, beaten
4 oz. powdered sugar
Rose water
2 tsp. brandy

Directions:

beat the butter with the regular sugar until white and creamy. Add the brandy and the beaten egg yolk, followed by the sieved cake flour, baking soda, salt and ground almonds. Knead well for a few minutes and form into balls the size of an egg. Flatten slightly onto a greased baking sheet and bake in a cool oven until firm and crisp but not brown. While still warm from the oven sprinkle each one with rose water and then liberally with powdered sugar

Comments from Lisa Feinson :

Watch out, the powdered sugar gets everywhere! :)
