Ingredients:

1/2 cup butter or shortening
1 cup sugar
2 cups all-purpose flour
4 tsp. baking powder
1/4 tsp. salt
1 cup milk
1 pkg. (12 oz.) chocolate chips
2 cups boiling water or hot coffee
Brown sugar (optional)
Nuts, chopped (optional)

Directions:

Mix together butter, sugar, flour, baking powder and salt. Add milk. Pour this batter into a 9x13-inch glass plan. Sprinkle the top with a lot of brown sugar, and nuts if you like them. Then sprinkle on chocolate chips and pour water over the chocolate chips. Bake at 350°F oven for 50 minutes. The chocolate slides to the bottom of the pan. Best served with ice cream or whipped cream.
