Ingredients:

4-1/2 cups all-purpose flour
2 tsp. baking soda
1 tsp. salt
1 lb. butter
2/3 lb. Trader Joe's dark chocolate
1/3 cup cocoa powder; optional
2 tsp. vanilla extract
4 eggs
1 pkg. semisweet chocolate chips

Directions:

Mix first 3 ingredients together. Melt butter and chocolate over low heat. Beat in vanilla. Cool a bit. Beat in eggs. Add wet to dry ingredients. Mix promptly. Stir in chips. Drop rounded tablespoonfuls onto baking sheet 2-inches apart. Bake for 9-10 minutes in oven preheated to 375°F.
