Ingredients: |
|
|
1 stick unsalted butter
1 cup sugar
1 tsp. vanilla
4 eggs
1/2 tsp. salt
1 cup all-purpose flour
1 tsp. baking powder
1 can (16 oz.) Hershey's Chocolate Syrup
Frosting:
1 stick unsalted butter
1 cup sugar
1/3 cup milk
6 oz. semi-sweet chocolate
|
Directions:
|
Preheat your oven to 350°F. Mix the butter and the sugar in large mixing bowl for 5 minutes until smooth. Add those 4 eggs, one at a time. Beat the mix good after you put in each egg. Now sift the flour, salt and baking powder. Mix the flour mixture in with the chocolate syrup, and add the vanilla. Spread the batter in a buttered and floured 9x13-inch baking pan. Cook the cake for 35 minutes. Check from time to time towards the end. Once the center firms up, it's done. Take out and let cool.
Frosting:
Put butter, sugar and milk in a small saucepan. Stir over low heat until sugar is dissolved. This shouldn't take longer than about 3 minutes. Take it off the heat and add chocolate chips. Stir until it smooth. Spread over the top of the warm cake.

Serve cake hot or cold. (it's best cold when you're sneakin' into the kitchen for a midnite snack!).
