1-1/2 cups all-purpose flour, sifted
1/2 tsp. baking powder
1/2 tsp. salt
2/3 cup butter
3 squares (1 oz. each) unsweetened chocolate
3 lg. eggs
2 cups granulated sugar
1/4 cup plus 1 Tbsp. Kahlua
3/4 cup walnuts or pecans, chopped

Directions:

Grease 9-inch square pan well; line with foil. Preheat oven 350°F. Resift flour with baking powder and salt. Melt butter with chocolate over low heat. Beat eggs with sugar until light. Add flour mixture, chocolate mixture, and 1/4 cup Kahlua; blend well. Stir in nuts. Turn into preparted pan. Bake 30 minutes, or until top springs back when touched lightly in center, and edges begin to pull away from pan. Remove from oven; cool thoroughly in pan. Brush top with 1 Tbsp. Kahlua. Cut into 1x2-inch bars. Garnish, if desired.
