1 cup butter, softened
3/4 cup sugar
3/4 cup light brown sugar, packed
1 tsp. vanilla
2 eggs
2-1/4 cups unsifted all-purpose flour
1 tsp. baking soda
1/2 tsp. salt
1 pkg. (12 oz.) Hershey's semisweet chocolate chips
1 cup chopped nuts (optional)

Directions:

Preheat oven to 375°F. Cream butter, sugar, brown sugar and vanilla in large mixer bowl until light and fluffy. Add eggs; beat well. Combine flour, baking soda and salt; gradually add to creamed mixture. Beat well. Stir in chocolate chips and nuts.
Drop by teaspoonfuls onto ungreased cookie sheet. Bake at 375°F for 8 to 10 minutes or until lightly browned. Cool slightly. Remove from cookie sheet; cool completely on wire rack.

I had a similar recipe like this that I have used for years and it was always the best. I lost that recipe and found this one, but when I made the cookies, they came out really flat and weird. I think that there is either too much butter in the recipe or not enough flour so I will try to make them again by adjusting the recipe. |
