Ingredients:

1 cup all-pupose flour
8 tbsp. cocoa
1 tsp. baking powder
3/4 tsp. salt
1 cup sugar
2 tbsp. butter, melted
1 tsp. vanilla
1/2 cup milk
1/2 cup chopped walnuts (optional)
1-2/3 cups boiling water

Directions:

Stir together flour, 3 Tbsp. of the cocoa, baking powder, and salt; set aside. In large bowl, combine 1/2 cup sugar, butter, and vanilla. Stir flourmixture into sugar mixture alternately with milk, blending well after each addition. Stir in nuts. In 2 qt. casserole dish, combine the remaining 1/2 cup sugar, 5 Tbsp. cocoa, and boiling water. Drop batter by tablespoons onto hot mixture. Bake in 350°F oven for about 40 minutes, or until top is crusty.
