Ingredients:

1 cup sugar
3 egg yolks
3/4 cup cream
2 tbsp. yellow cornmeal
2 tbsp. melted butter or margarine
1 tsp. vanilla
1 unbaked pie shell

Directions:

Preheat oven to 500 degrees. Mix sugar, cornmeal and egg yolks. Add melted butter, cream and vanilla; pour into unbaked pie shell. Bake in 500 degree oven for 10 minutes; reduce heat to 400 degrees and bake another 20-25 minutes. Cool to firm.

*A chocolate chess pie can be made by ading 1/4 cup cocoa to mixture.

A favorite dessert of diners at Anna & Pierre's Restaurant,located on Lake Herrington(Harrodsburg,KY)in the mid-1980's. Many of them took whole pies home at the end of the evening.
