1-1/2 tsp. Kraft mayonnaise for each pear half
1 cup shredded velveeta
Lettuce

Directions:

Arrange lettuce on plate. Drain pears. Arrange pears on lettuce. Put dollop of Kraft mayo in the hollow of each pear. Garnish with shredded cheese.

This is a cheesy 50s style Betty Crocker your-mom-learned-it-in-home-ec recipe, and yeah, it sounds weird. But. it. is. so. good. You'll just have to trust me on this one.
My mom used to make this all the time when I was growing up, and I loved it. I never even considered it might be a bit... bizzare... until I tried to serve it to other people.
And yes, Kraft mayo is important. It's tangier and sets off the pears better than Hellman's. And for Christ's sweet sake, don't even say the words Miracle Whip.
