Ingredients:

1 lg. onion, diced
6 lg. tomatoes, diced
2 green bell peppers, diced
4 lg. carrots, peeled and grated
16 oz. can of baked beans
4 tbsp. hot curry powder
2 fresh chillies, minced
1 tbsp. peri-peri
5 fl. oz. oil
1/2 tsp. salt

Directions:

1. Warm oil in pot for 1 minute
2. Put in onions and green pepper, and fry until soft
3. Add the carrots, tomatoes, chillies and baked beans and stir
4. Cook for 15 minutes on medium heat
5. Stir every few minutes to ensure that it does not stick to the pot.
6. Add curry, peri-peri and salt to season
7. Cook on low for further 15 minutes

Another South African favourite! Chakalaka is the ideal condiment when you're having a barbeque. Great on meat or potatoes or even as a dip! Add more chillies if you want it to be hotter! Chakalaka can be stored in the refrigerator in a sealed container for a week or 2.
