Total Time:

Ingredients:

9 tbsp. sweet butter, softened
10 tbsp. sugar
3 egg whites
1-1/2 cups flour
1-1/2 tsp. vanilla extract
6 (1 oz. each each) squares semisweet chocolate, melted

Directions:

Cream butter and sugar together. Add egg whites, one by one, mixing well after each addition. Add flour and vanilla. If dough seems too soft, add more flour.

Force through a pastry bag or cookie press with a medium star tip onto lightly buttered cookie sheets. Make each cookie about 3 inches long.

Bake at 400 F. until straw-colored (about 10 minutes).

When cool, dip one end of each cookie in 4 - 6 squares melted chocolate and place on wax paper until chocolate hardens. Store in a cool place.

Makes 6 dozen
