2-1/2 cups flour
1-1/2 cups sugar
1-1/2 tsp. soda
1 tsp. baking powder
1/4 tsp. salt
1 tsp. cinnamon
1/2 tsp. cloves
1/2 cup melted butter
1-1/2 cups buttermilk

Directions:
|
Sift together the flour, sugar, soda, baking powder, salt, cinnamon, and cloves into a mixing bowl. Stir in the butter, then stir in the buttermilk, mixing until the batter is well combined and smooth. Grease a tube cake pan and dust lightly with granulated sugar. Pour in the batter and bake in a moderate oven 350°F. for 1 hour or until a cake tester comes out clean.
