Total Time:

Ingredients:

1 to 1-1/2 lb. hamburger
1 to 2 onions, chopped
1 tbsp. garlic salt
1 tsp. cumin
Black pepper, to taste (I use a generous amount)
1 tbsp. equal parts cinnamon, cloves and cardamom
Chopped green onions, to taste
Chopped parsley, to taste
Hard-boiled egg, chopped, to taste

Directions:

Brown meat and onion together. Cut egg roll wraps in half lengthwise. Place 1 tsp. of meat mixture in one corner of top and fold top corner to side to form triangle, then fold down straight, then triangular, then straight until at the end. Use small amt. of water on end to seal. When meat mixture completely used, drop sambusas into hot oil and fry until golden brown.

Some young Arabic wives living in Chas. Rosen Maried Student House, Tulane University taught this to me while my husband was a law student there in the late 1970's.
