Total Time:

Ingredients:

2 cups oats
2 cups rice crispies
1/2 cup raisins
4 tbsp. margarine
1/2 cup brown sugar
1/2 cup honey
1/2 tsp. cinnamon
1/4 tsp. salt
1/2 tsp. vanilla

Directions:

Combine oats, cereal & raisins in large bowl. Set aside. Combine margarine, sugar and honey in microwaveable dish with high sides (I used 2 quart glass measure). Microwave on HIGH for 3 minutes, then stir in cinnamon, and stir until mixed well. Microwave another 1 minute, and stir, then one more minute and stir in vanilla and salt. Pour over cereal in bowl, and stir to coat evenly.

Using fingertips dampened with cold water, press firmly into buttered oblong cake pan and let cool. May score into bars before completely cool to make it a bit easier to cut.

Comments from thatbobbiegirl :

We had no kitchen, let alone an oven to bake cookies, yet my kids wanted cookies. My husband wanted cookies. So, being the search-engine wizard that I am (at least in my own mind) I looked for no-bake cookie recipes online. Just about all I could find were those cocoa and oatmeal lump cookies that you boil on the stove top, and chewy granola bars with peanut butter. Well, the kids liked those, but my hubby requested granola bars with NO peanut butter. Sure. Fine. I can do that. Umm...eventually...

Ok, here are the results, and they're winners according to all the family members that have tried them.
