Ingredients:

2 lb. ground beef
1 pkg. saltine crackers, finely crushed or bread crumbs
2 eggs
1 can (sm.) tomato sauce
1 cup ketchup
4 to 6 slices bacon, fried crisp and crumbled with grease reserved
1 sm. onion, diced
1 sm. green pepper, diced
1 tbsp. garlic powder
1 tbsp. seasoned salt
1/4 cup brown sugar
1 tbsp. Worcestershire sauce
1 tsp. Accent

Directions:

Saute green pepper and onion in the bacon grease till not quite tender, maybe 5 minutes. Add tomato sauce, 1/2 cup ketchup, Worcestershire and spices (minus brown sugar); heat 3-4 minutes.

Place ground beef into large mixing bowl; add the eggs, brown sugar, pepper and onion sauce. Mix in the crumbled bacon and crushed crackers and mix all this together. Mixture should be very moist.

Put into a baking dish and form into a loaf. Pour the other 1/2 cup of ketchup on top and spread it around. Bake at 350°F for 1 hour.
