Ingredients: |

2 (6 oz. each) sirloin steaks, pounded to 1/2-inch thickness
2 tbsp. olive oil
3 cloves garlic, minced
3 plum tomatoes, cut into 1/2-inch dices
1 tbsp. chopped flat leaf parsley
2 tbsp. chopped fresh oregano
1 tbsp. crushed red pepper flakes
Salt and fresh ground black pepper to taste

Directions:

In a medium pan, heat the oil to just below smoking. Season the steaks with salt and pepper. Add the steaks to the pan and cook about 2-3 minutes on each side. Remove and keep warm.
In the same pan, add the tomatoes, garlic, herbs and crushed red pepper flakes. Lower the heat to medium-low. Stir and simmer for 7-8 minutes. Taste and season with salt and pepper. Spoon the tomato mixture over the steaks and serve.

I tried the dish just last week. The recipe was on the Phantom Gourmet T.V. Show here in Boston. It was so good that I just wanted to pass it on to every one.
I just served it with some pasta on the side.

I watch that show every week myself. I saw this recipe and wanted to try it also. But I forgot to write it down. Thanks for doing it. I made it at home it was very good and I think that I might add some capers to the sauce next time. |
