Total Time:

Ingredients:

Crust:
2 cups almonds, toasted, and cut fine
4 cups flour
1 cup sugar
1-1/2 cups butter

Filling:
1 cup sugar
3 tsp. cornstarch
2 pints strawberries

Directions:

If the almonds aren't already toasted and cut fine, put them in a shallow baking dish at 350°F for 10 minutes, stirring occasionally; grind in food processor, but do not grind too fine.

In a large bowl, mix flour, sugar and almonds, then cut in butter as you would for pie crust. In another large bowl, mix sugar and cornstarch. Then add berries until they're covered. In a large casserole dish, press half the crust, then cover with berries, then cover with the remainder of the crust. Bake at 450°F for 20 minutes.
