Ingredients:

1 lb. ground beef
1/4 cup dry bread crumbs
2 tbsp. minced onion
2 tbsp. water
1 egg
3/4 tsp. Tabasco sauce, divided
1/2 cup coarsely chopped green bell pepper
2 tbsp. olive oil
1/2 cup chopped onion
1/2 tsp. chopped garlic
4 cups beef broth
1 can (1 lb.) tomatoes, undrained
1/4 tsp. saffron, crumbled

Directions:

In a medium bowl, combine beef, crumbs, minced onion, water, egg, and 1/4 tsp. Tabasco sauce. Mix and chill well (at least 1 hour). Shape into 1-inch meat balls.

In a large sauce pan, heat oil. Saute green pepper, chopped onion and garlic for 3 minutes. Stir in broth, tomatoes, saffron and remaining Tabasco sauce. Simmer 30 minutes. Add meatballs and simmer an additional 20 minutes.
