Total Time:

Ingredients:

1 pkg. pasta screws
2 tsp. pesto sauce
1/4 cup olive oil
1 onion, chopped
3 cloves garlic
9 oz. rindless streaky bacon, chopped
1 pkg. brown olives
1 square feta cheese
Parmesan cheese

Directions:

Cook pasta as directed on the packet. Saute garlic and onion in a little olive oil for 1 to 2 minutes. Add bacon and fry until cooked.

In a different saucepan. Add the remainder of the olive oil on a low heat. Add the pesto sauce and olives until they have all heated up slightly. Add the Feta cheese breaking up as you add it in.

While the feta cheese is melting mix the pasta and bacon and onion mix in a large bowl. Thereafter pour the pesto, olives and feta cheese into the pasta and mix well. Sprinkle parmesan cheese over the top to garnish.

User Reviews:

Yummy! I was eating leftovers of this dish all week. I love all of the strong flavors used in this recipe, but I would suggest using less bacon, as it tends to overpower the whole dish. I used turkey bacon in an effort to lower the fat content of this recipe, and turned out well. It got nice and crispy while cooking in the olive oil. I don't know if Pesto Pasta Twirls is the best name for this recipe... I didn't really taste the pesto. Next time I make this I'll use less bacon and more pesto.
