Ingredients:

6-2/5 oz. semi-sweet bitter chocolate
1 tbsp. strong coffee
1 splash Irish whisky
4-3/10 oz. butter
4-3/10 oz. caster sugar
3 egg yolks
3 egg whites, whipped
2 oz. caster sugar
2 oz. self-rising flour, sifted

Topping:
4-3/10 oz. chocolate
4-3/10 oz. butter
1 splash Irish whisky

Directions:

Melt bitter chocolate. Combine with the strong coffee and whisky. Cool and put to one side. Cream together the butter and sugar. Add egg yolks and mix well.

Combine the chocolate and egg yolk mixtures. Combine the sifted flour and sugar. Fold in the flour/sugar and whipped egg whites alternately.

Pour into a 23cm greased cake tin. Bake at 180ºC/350ݔF for 25 - 30 minutes.

Topping:
Melt chocolate and butter. Add whisky. Spread over top and sides of cooled cake. Enjoy.
