Ingredients:

12 slices firm white bread
12 oz. Gruyere, shredded
2 lb. medium shrimp, cooked and peeled
4 eggs
2-1/2 cups half and half
1 tbsp. Dijon mustard
1/2 cup minced yellow onion
Salt and pepper, to taste

Directions:

Butter a 13x9-inch baking pan. Arrange six slices of bread on the bottom of the baking pan. Sprinkle cheese evenly over bread. Arrange shrimp evenly over cheese. Top with remaining bread slices. In a bowl mix remaining ingredients, pour over bread. Chill Strata one hour.

Heat oven to 325°F. Bake Strata, uncovered, 50 minutes or until puffy and brown. Cut into 12 sections if serving as part of the Sandwich Soiree or 6 portions if serving as the single entree.
