Ingredients:

1 lg. chicken fryer
4 qt. water
2 chicken bouillon cubes
Salt and pepper

Dumplings:
1 tsp. shortening
1/2 cup flour
1 cup buttermilk
1 tsp. soda
1 pinch salt

Directions:

Chicken:
Cook until chicken falls from the bone in water. Put bouillon cubes, salt and pepper. Remove chicken from bone. Let simmer while making the dumplings.

Dumplings:
Cut shortening into dry ingredients. Add buttermilk. Stir and add enough flour to make a heavy dough. Place on floured board. Roll to 1/4-inch thickness. Cut into short strips. Be sure dumplings are well floured, then place in chicken. Cover, cook 15 minutes or until tender. To thicken chicken and dumplings, cup water and flour; stir.

AWFUL!!! This person has obviously never had real dumplings!! The dough did not hold together at all. RUN from this recipe!!!
