Ingredients:

1 cup shortening
1 cup sugar
1 egg, beaten
3 cups sifted flour
1-1/2 tsp. baking soda
3 tbsp. almond extract
1/4 cup honey or corn syrup
1 cup blanched almonds

Directions:

Preheat oven to 375°F. Grease cookie sheet. Cream shortening and sugar; beat in egg. Blend in flour, baking soda, almond extract and honey until smooth. 3. Roll dough into 1-inch balls. Flatten to 1/2-inch thick and place an almond in the center of each. Bake 15-20 mintues, or until lightly browned.
