Ingredients:

1/2 cup butter, softened
2/3 cup lightly packed brown sugar
1 egg
1 cup all-purpose flour
1-1/4 cups granola cereal
1/2 cup coconut, flaked
1/2 cup Maraschino cherries, chopped
1/4 cup nuts, chopped
1/2 tsp. baking powder
1/2 tsp. orange rind, grated (optional)
1 pkg. milk chocolate chips

Directions:

Cream butter with sugar and add egg until light. Stir in remaining ingredients. Mix well. Drop by tablespoon onto ungreased baking sheet. Bake at 350°F (180°C) for 10-12 minutes or until golden brown. Cool.

It's not often I get a recipe right on the first try, but this was a hit. My whole Family liked them. The best part was they didn't harden.


I made these on the weekend and they don't taste like black forest cake, but they are tastey. They're a soft cookie and chewy.
