Total Time:

Ingredients:

1 qt. milk
2 cups honey or sugar
4 tbsp. butter, melted
3 eggs, slightly beaten
2 tbsp. vanilla
1 loaf French bread, crumbled
1 cup raisins
1 tsp. nutmeg
1 tsp. cinnamon

Whiskey Sauce:
1 cup butter
2 cups sugar

Combine milk, honey, butter, eggs and vanilla. Mix with bread. Mixture should be very moist but not soupy. Add remaining ingredients and pour into a buttered 13x9" pan. Place into a non-preheated oven at 350 degrees for about 1 hour and 25 min. Top should be golden brown.

For Sauce:
Cream butter and sugar. Place in top of a double boiler over boiling water. Cook 30 minutes, stirring often until very hot. Stir small amount of hot mixture into eggs. Stir eggs into hot mixture. Cook 3 min, stirring constantly. Cool; then stir in whiskey and whisk well.
