Havarti

Definition # 242

A mild Danish cheese, now produced by many American dairies under the same name, that is used in sandwiches and omelettes. Havarti is a mild-flavored, rindless cow's milk cheese with very small holes found across its surface. It is usually made with added herbs and spices, such as caraway, dill and jalapeņo peppers, to make it more suitable as a sandwich cheese.
