Produced on the island Texel, off the coast of the Netherlands and Germany in the Frisian Islands, Texelaar is produced from excellent dairy cows. It is softer than what we know of swiss Emmental and has a sweet, nutty flavor. It is most commonly found in big, yellow wax-coated wheels.
