My name is Ryan Snyder, and I founded Foodgeeks.com in 1999 after a 2-year stint of training techies through my previous venture, Cramsession.com. During the fall of 1998, I found myself completely frustrated with the 40 minutes it took to find a recipe, flipping through cookbook pages and clicking through websites, only to make something mediocre. I decided to create a recipe database that would allow home chefs to share recipes and help each other become better chefs.
Over the last 6 years I’ve watched Foodgeeks.com grow from a fledgling website to a fabulous community of over 5,000 food geeks. You have submitted over 8,000 recipes and have provided great reviews to give praise and provide recommendations for improving those recipes. So, thanks for helping to make Foodgeeks.com a warm and welcome home for people to gain knowledge, inspiration and confidence in their culinary skills, and to make yummy recipes too.
Knowing that there’s no better combination than food and wine, I rolled out Winegeeks.com with fellow wine geek Sunny Brown in late 2004 to help others discover the joys of wine in a unpretentious environment.
My promise to you is to continue to implement site features that will allow you to learn more about food, to make better recipes, and to be more satisfied with the life you live. The best experiences of my life have been shared with others over delicious food and wine, and I wish the same for you.
